According to the description information provided by the National Park Service, the monument is a, “5'6" x 5'6" x 11'6", blue Westerly granite monument has polished cylindrical shaft with inscription to which 4 red granite cannon tubes are attached. Conical cap ends in carved pedestal that once supported a now-missing granite sphere."
