Inscription. Five thousand pound anchor from the USS Valcour, a seaplane tender and a research vessel. Vessel was stripped for salvage at the U.S. Navy Ordinance Testing Station at Solomons in 1976. Anchor was originally aboard USS Portsmouth before being transferred to USS Valcour.
