Inscription. Only surviving tree of an orchard planted by R.O. Hunt on the Salto Ranch which he established in 1876.

This is Ventura County Historical Landmark No. 64, designated in 1981, when the tree was over 100 years old. The tree was moved to its present site in 1993.
