The Brigade arrived with its Division too late to take part in the first day's battle. It formed early September 20th on this ground as the left of the front line of the Division, with Deas' Brigade on its right and Anderson's in its rear. It advanced with the general line about 11:20 a.m. and encountered the enemy soon after crossing the LaFayette road.

This marker is located in the National Military Park that preserves the site of the Chickamauga Battlefield, and is situated along one of the park hiking trails that is in the woods east of the LaFayette Road. Touch for map. Marker is in this post office area: Fort Oglethorpe GA 30742, United States of America. Touch for directions.

I used the "Chickamauga Battlefield" map, that I purchased at the Chickamauga and Chattanooga National Military Park, Visitor Center, to determine both the marker number for this tablet and the tablet's location in relation to the rest of the park's monuments, markers, and tablets. According to the map it provides the, "numerical listing of all monuments, markers, and tablets on the Chickamauga Battlefield (using the Chick-Chatt NMP Monument Numbering System).”
