Inscription. Marion CSA Cemetery and its surrounding area contain the remains of 170 Confederate soldiers who died at a nearby field hospital in 1862-64 following various battles, from Shiloh to Vicksburg.

There are no actual graves here, these are memorial grave markers. This cemetery is placed as near as possible to one of the mass burial sites often set up during the Civil War, but the remains were not disinterred and reburied here.
