A diamond symbol for Third Corps is on the top of the monument. The artwork on the front shows crossed rammers and the state seal above a stack of cannon balls.

One 12-pounder Napoleon, registry number 398 produced by Revere Copper of Boston, Massachusetts, represents the battery at this location. Blocks next to the road show another gun was present in this display at one time.

Looking down the gun at the monument toward Seminary Ridge. Four of Bucklyn's guns deployed were the monument stands today. From this position, the gunners had a good field of fire against the advancing Mississippians. Two other guns from the battery deployed closer to the Sherfy house.

From a point north of the Sherfy House looking west at Seminary Ridge. A two gun section of Battery E (Bucklyn's), 1st Rhode Island deployed in this vicinity along with two guns of Battery C & F (Thompson's), Pennsylvania Light Artillery. The guns withdrew as the Confederate infantry pressed close.
