1. Bluestone Sidewalks Marker
Inscription. Bluestone slabs comprised the sidewalks of our business district in the 1870's. These are well over 100 years. Cut from the Pennsylvania Slate Belt, they were delivered to the town's "Road Overseer". 1874 maps show "Main Street" was then 60 feet wide. It depicts the "Horse Car Company's" rail tracks as evidence of the business district's primary transportation.
