1. Henry's Station Marker

Inscription. Founded by Maj. Hugh Henry, it was 300 yards from here. On June 10, 1785, the Treaty of Dumplin Creek was signed here by commissioners of the State of Franklin and the chiefs of the Cherokee Nation. Blount, Hamblen, Jefferson, Knox and Sevier Counties were opened to settlement. A monument at the spot gives other details.

Location. 35° 58.382′ N, 83° 37.563′ W. Marker is in Kodak, Tennessee, in Sevier County. Marker is on Douglas Dam Road (Tennessee Route 139) half a mile south of W. Dumplin Valley Road, on the right when traveling south. This beautiful spot is upland with view of the creek below. It is a short dead end gravel road in the middle of agricultural pastures. There are remnants of an old mill or store with some evidence of restoration in progress. It is a remarkable landmark in the early settlement of East Tennessee. Touch for map.
