Reached General Hooker's command from Chattanooga soon after dark November 24th. Moved to Missionary Ridge via Rossville on the morning of November 25th, 1863.

According to the description information provided by the National Park Service, the monument is, “7'6" x 4'4" x 4'6" high rock-faced granite monument consisting of rectangular block with an inscribed polished front on rectangular base. The tops of both pieces are beveled. Marks unit's participation in Battle of Lookout Mountain.”
