1. Crown Forces Artillery Park Marker

Inscription. When Burgoyne ordered his army into retreat, the Crown Forces Artillery Park – located on the flat area below and to your right – became a scene of frantic activity. The artillery equipment assembled there – larger field guns and limbers, spare carriages, carts for ammunition and tools, supply wagons, even carriages for pontoons used to bridge rivers – all had to be hitched to oxen or horses and brought into line.
