This tablet is located on a belltower wall just behind the Nelson marker and reads:

"Knowledge is Power"
The Central school bell was returned to the citizens of Nelsonville, August 2000, with the cooperation of the Peoples Bank Corporation and the Vern "Snap" Coakley family.

The bell tower was erected with the generous support of the Rex and Nancy Smith Maiden family and the many contributors to this project.

"May the ringing of this bell perpetuate the memory of Central School"
