N. Y. After she was married to Thomas Salmon Moses the couple rented a farm near Staunton, Virginia where they lived for 20 years before returning to New York State and the farm at Eagle Bridge. Grandma Moses gave the name of "Mount Nebo" to her farm. According to the Bible, Mount Nebo is where the Hebrew prophet Moses was given his first view of the Promised Land. Grandma Moses died in Hoosick Falls December 13, 1961 and is buried there, in the Maple Grove Cemetery.

The former Grandma Moses farm is the location of the Mount Nebo Gallery; home, studio, and gallery of folk artist Will Moses, a fourth generation member of the renowned Moses family.
