1. Chicago Board of Trade Battery Marker

Inscription. Panic-stricken Union troops bolted out of the woods, closely pressed by cheering Texans. Canister from the battery's six guns, placed on this rise, forced back the attackers. Reinforced by a second battery, the Union artillerymen repulsed a second assault to save the Pike, their lifeline to Nashville, from capture.

4. 3.80 inch James Rifle Type 1

One of the pieces on display is a James Rifle, of the early type which used the Model 1841 6-pdr Field Gun pattern. Registry number 97, it was cast in 1862 by Miles Greenwood of Cincinnati, Ohio.

5. 3.80 inch James Rifle Type 1

The second James rifle at the position was cast by Ames Manufacturing of Massachusetts. This piece was cast in 1861 and weighs 872 pounds but lacks registry numbers.
