Shaver's (1st) Brigade,
7th Ark., 2d Ark., 3rd Confederate,
Hardee's Corps,
Army of the Mississippi.
These regiments, in order as above, made an attack over this ground at 2.30 p.m., April 6, 1862. Lieut. Col. Dean, 7th Ark., was killed 300 feet to the left of this tablet.

Shaver's brigade was not again engaged on Sunday.

Marker is about 50 yards south of the "Sunken Road" on a path through the woods in Shiloh National Military Park. "Sunken Road" is an unpaved pedestrian-only route. Touch for map.
