14th Iowa Infantry,
Tuttle's (1st) Brig., W.H.L.Wallace's (2d) Div., Army of the Tennessee.
At this place the 14th Iowa, while marching by rear rank, was intercepted by a Confederate force at 5 p.m. April 6, 1862. After an engagement of 15 minutes the enemy was dispersed and this regiment continued its retreat to the camp of 32d Illinois.
