Smith's (1st) Brigade,
11th Indiana, 24th Indiana,
8th Missouri,
L. Wallace's (3d) Division.
This brigade with its regiments in order as above, was engaged here from about 10 a.m. to 12 m. April 7, 1862. It then advanced into Crescent Field.
 
Erected by Shiloh National Military Park Commission. (Marker Number 118.)
