1st and 3rd Florida - Capt. W. T. Saxon.
4th Florida - Lieut. Col. E. Badger.
6th Florida - Lieut. Col. A. D. McLean.
7th Florida - Lieut. Col. Tillman Ingram
1st Florida Cav. (Dismounted) - Col. G. T. Maxwell.
Except the 1st Florida Dismounted Cavalry and 4th Florida Infantry, this Brigade was brought up from the trenches early the night of Nov. 24th and formed on the left of Bate's (Tyler's) Brigade. Subsequently the 7th Florida, Lieut. Col. Ingram was sent back to the trenches with orders to hold them at all hazards. At 1 P.M. the line was moved to the right until the left of the Brigade rested in the depression to the right of Gen. Bragg's Headquarters. Adams' (Gibson's) Brigade of Stewart's Division was on its left. Upon the advance of the enemy Reynold's Brigade of Buckner's Division in retiring hastily from the trenches at the foot of the ridge, threw the left of Finley's line into temporary confusion. The Brigades of Finley and Bate fought with persistence until enfiladed by the enemy who had gained the crest both on the right and the left. Location. 35° 1.37′ N, 85° 15.649′ W. Marker is in Chattanooga, Tennessee, in Hamilton County. It is in Missionary Ridge. Marker is on South Crest Road north of East Main Street, on the right when traveling north. In order to view this historical marker one must find a way to get to the crest of Missionary Ridge. The options to use in ascending Missionary Ridge are limited and difficult to locate if you are not familiar with the area. From downtown Chattanooga, I drove east to Missionary Ridge on Main Street, and using Main Street took me to the top of Missionary Ridge. Once at the top of Missionary Ridge I needed to make a series of three right turns to get on South Crest Street.
