Marker is on South Crest Road south of East Main Street, on the left when traveling south. This marker (tablet) is located on Missionary Ridge, in the Bragg Reservation. Once you have entered the Bragg Reservation you will find this marker on the northern border of the Bragg Reservation, looking over the Interstate 24 cut through the ridge. More about this marker. It is only my impression, but it almost appears as if the original text on this tablet was removed and some make-do basic information was added to a do-over, bare bones, tablet.
According to the description information provided by the National Park Service, the marker is a, “3' x 2' bronze inscription tablet with decorative border mounted on low marble pedestal. Describes the unit's activities on November 25, 1863.”
