This Brigade, the center of Sheridan's Division, its right on the Moore Road (Montgomery Avenue). Advanced in the general assault in two lines, with heavy skirmish lines, Col. Walworth, 42d Illinois, commanding the right wing, Col. Opdycke, 125th Ohio, the left. After carrying the rifle-pits at the base of the ridge, held by strong skirmish lines, part of the line advancing on the slope was retired to the foot. It was soon ordered forward, the crest was carried along the Brigade front. Six guns captured and pursuit at once began.

Location. 35° 1.163′ N, 85° 15.798′ W. Marker is in Chattanooga, Tennessee, in Hamilton County. It is in Missionary Ridge. Marker is on South Crest Road south of East Main Street, on the left when traveling south. In order to view this historical marker one must find a way to get to the crest of Missionary Ridge. The options to use in ascending Missionary Ridge are limited and difficult to locate if you are not familiar with the area. From downtown Chattanooga, I drove east to Missionary Ridge on Main Street, and using Main Street took me to the top of Missionary Ridge. Once at the top of Missionary Ridge I needed to make two right turns to get on South Crest Street and then go only a slight distance south to reach the Bragg Reservation which is where this historical marker is located. Once you have entered the Bragg Reservation you will find this historical marker on the west side of the parking area on the old Ridge Road that runs through the Bragg Reservation.

Regarding Harker's Brigade. While this tablet identifies both the location and role played during the military action of this particular Brigade, as well as listing the regimental units that make up this Brigade, not all of its listed regiments have individual markers and/or tablets for the park visitor to view. So of the regiments listed for Harker's Brigade, all of them except for the 3rd Kentucky have either a marker or a tablet for visitors to view. In explaining this, the NPS staff state the following,
