Russell's (1st) Brig., Clark's (1st) Div., Polk's Corps,
Army of the Mississippi.

This regiment was engaged here at 5:30 P.M. April 6, 1862 and was on duty here until after dark. It is claimed by Col. Russell that General Prentiss surrendered to members of this regiment.
