A Midwestern city as a hotbed of artistic expression? You bet. Here in Kansas City, you’ll discover a wealth of superb arts and cultural offerings. From the extraordinary exhibits and architecture of The Nelson-Atkins Museum to the excitement of stage performances at the Missouri Repertory Theater, Kansas City is a great place to fill your soul and mind with beauty and thought-provoking arts experiences.

Kansas City is also home to the Kemper Museum, featuring many permanent and rotating exhibits of contemporary art by internationally acclaimed artists such as Jasper Johns, Georgia O’Keefe and Robert Mapplethorpe. Our town also features performances by the State Ballet of Missouri, including the annual staging of the “Nutcracker”, as well as the Lyric Opera Company.

Among the other live theatres bringing in national acts are Starlight’s outdoor amphitheater in Swope Park, and the Midland Theatre, located on Kansas City’s Avenue of the Arts. Seasonal arts offerings include the Plaza Art Festival, the Ethnic Enrichment Festival and the Kansas City Blues & Jazz Festival, four of the city’s most anticipated annual events. Mark your calendars!
