Inscription. In this stand of eucalyptus trees lie the remains of the La Grange Gold Dredge Co. Camp. Here unmarried miners lived in a small community while they operated huge dredging machines near and on the Tuolumne River. The camp was abandoned in 1951 when the price of gold no longer paid the cost of recovering it.
