1. Willow Springs Marker
Inscription. Visited by Padre Garces (1776) while following Old Horse Thief Trace later known as Joe Walker Trail. Fremont stopped here (1844). The famished Jayhawk Party (1850) found water here while struggling from Death Valley to Los Angeles. Still later was station on Los Angeles – Havilah and Inyo Stage Lines.
 
Erected 1951 by Kern County Historical Society and Kern County Museum. (Marker Number 130.)
