Location. 40° 8.774′ N, 74° 42.703′ W. Marker is in Bordentown, New Jersey, in Burlington County. Marker is on Crosswicks St. near Farnsworth Ave, in the median. Touch for map. I can't imagine how a truck or drunk driver taking the turn too quick hasn't hit this!
The marker has been most likely moved to this location during some point in the last 30 years and it was once a fountain. Because of the time period and height of the monument, I suspect that it was a horse fountain that once had troughs that the water fed into.

All of the plumbing for the fountain has been removed. The designer made interesting use of books in the design of the marker's crown in keeping with its academic theme.
