Inscription. Oldest standing one-room schoolhouse for African American students in Calvert County. Offered education for grades 1-7 in the Wallville community. Illustrates the segregated educational facilities of the late 19th and early 20th centuries. Moved in 2006 to current site for preservation and reconstruction.

Erected by Maryland Historical Trust, Maryland State Highway Administration.
