A signer of the Texas Declaration of Independence. Founder of the city of Galveston. Member of the Congress of the Republic of Texas.

Regarding Site of the Home of Michel Branamour Menard. This home is on the National Register of Historic Places. It is the oldest surviving residence in Galveston.

Menard was the founder of the City of Galveston. The home passed back and fourth between Menard and the Allen brothers, the founders of Houston, Texas.
