1. The Free Church of Halifax Marker

Inscription. In 1793, the first Halifax church was built at this location. The Free Church was open to all denominations. Services were held until the 1850’s when congregations began to build their own churches. In 1911 the church fell in disrepair and collapsed.

In 2002, the Historical Halifax Restoration Association began cemetery restoration. Grave markers and vaults were repaired. Grave houses were erected and the church area was marked by brick foundations.
