1. Crewe Marker on Lee's Retreat Trail

Lee's Retreat is a driving tour following General Robert E. Lee's route from Petersburg to Appomattox.

Inscription. Originally called Robertson’s switch, near here General Grant made a cross-country night ride through enemy territory to join Generals Sheridan and Meade at Jetersville. Here, plans would be made for operations against Lee’s army the following day.
