Location. 37° 13.47′ N, 95° 40.718′ W. Marker is near Independence, Kansas, in Montgomery County. Marker is at the intersection of Main Street (U.S. 160) and 4175th Street, on the left when traveling east on Main Street. Markers are at each end of the 1926 four-span Rainbow Arch Bridge over the Verdigris River, one mile east of Independence. Touch for map.
