3. Shurtleff College on Wikipedia. Shurtleff College was a Baptist liberal arts school in Alton, Illinois (in the Upper Alton part of the city). Its notable alumni included Robert Wadlow, the world's tallest human. Many improvements were made on the college during its existence, including a library from Andrew Carnegie. The school was later absorbed by the Southern Illinois University system in the late 1950's, and it is now the site of SIU Dental School.
