1. Sturgeon Creek Marker

Inscription. A branch of the Nottoway, named for the huge fish once caught in it. William Byrd, returning from the expedition to survey the Virginia-North Carolina boundary line, camped on this stream in November, 1729.

Erected 2009 by Department of Historic Resources. (Marker Number S-60.)
