1. Cottage Corners Marker
Inscription. First saloon serving steam beer in this area. Has been here for over 100 years. Owned and operated for many years by Steve Kaelin. Presently owned by Lydia C. and Ray L. Dassel.
 
Erected 1976 by Monterey Viejo Chapter No. 1846, E Clampus Vitus.

Regarding Cottage Corners. When this marker was erected in 1976 The Cottage was still in business at the corner of San Felipe and Wright Roads. The Cottage has since closed and the building has been moved to the grounds of the San Benito Historical Park, approximately 2 miles south of Tres Pinos off of Highway 25, and has been restored.
