Inscription. Scottish Pioneers built here in 1806 the first schoolhouse west of the Genesee River. Formed here in 1805 the First Pres. Kirk oldest living church west of the river. Marker set July 4, 1925

inscription is carved into the rock. It is set back from the roadway and can be seen from the road, but not read. It is not immediately evident that there is an inscription of any kind on the rock.
(Kirk" is Scottish for Church - a fact I've only learned in the last year or so.)
