Ein Grossbrand äscherte 1833 zehn in einer Doppelzeile aneinandergebaute Häuser zwischen der Reuss und dem Korn-und Weinmarkt ein. Beim Wiederaufbau wurden die Neubauten um ein Geschoss erhöht und die ehemaligen Hinterhöfe in eine Gasse umgewandelt. Diese heisst seit 1834 Brandgässli. . German-English translation:.
