Inscription. ½ blk. N, built 1884. Restored by Lawrence Co. Hist. Soc. Longino was gov. of Miss., 1901-1904. During his term New Capitol built; Dept. of Archives & Hist. and state penal farm estab.; public school system improved.
 
Erected 1978 by Mississippi Department of Archives and History.
