About 1000 ft. west of this spot is the site of the first cabin built in this valley in the summer of 1877 by Abraham Powell.

More about this marker. This is a composite marker: a new marker placed in 2011 which recognizes and includes the original marker from 1936. Both the new marker and the old marker were local Boy Scout Troop projects. The new marker was placed 75 years after the original, in conjunction with the 2011 Price, Utah Centennial.
