Inscription.
Site of
the Dutch Reformed Church
of the
English Neighborhood
Built in 1768-9 and
dedicated in 1770, with
Dominie Garrett Lydecker
its first minister.
Used as a guardhouse and hospital
at various times during the Revolution.
Torn down in 1792, some of the timbers
and stone used in construction of the
succeeding edifice in Ridgefield.

2. Marker in Leonia
The English Neighborhood Reformed Church, which once stood at this location, was moved, stone by stone, from the Old English Neighborhood after the war to its current site in Ridgefield.

3. English Neighborhood Reformed Church
This is the current site of the Reformed Church in Ridgefield. When the church was located in Leonia, the pastor was a renowned Tory who fled to England when the war heated up.
