1. The Kenny Fountain Marker

Inscription. ...is dedicated to Thomas J. Kenny, who in 1818 crossed the Alleghenies and purchased this property for five pounds, ten shillings, six pence, and a barrel of whiskey. The farm he established later was called Kenny's Grove, a retreat where the neighbors picnicked in the summer.

More about this marker. The fountain was not operating at the time I visited, although the circumference of lights in the fountain pool did turn on as sundown approached.
