Regarding Veedersburg Memorial Park. The "Memorial Park" was named in 2001 by the Town of Veedersburg, Indiana to honor all military veterans. At one time the land was a right of way for the "Bee Line" latter called the Big Four (Cleveland, Cincinnati, Chicago & St.Louis Railroad) that is now gone with all road beds removed.
In 1991 a war memorial was errected by the Veedersburg American Legion to honor all military veterans from the area that gave their life.
To the East end of "Memorial Park" sits the old railroad depot which has been developed into the Fountain County War Museum.
Carl and Beverly Butts, life long residents of the area, have been very active in veteran work. In 2001 this marker stone was erected and dedicated to honor them for their efforts - and - in memory of all military veterans.

1. Memorial
Hello. My name is Kelly Renee(Krout) Kirby. I am the youngest daughter of Rusty Krout and the great niece to the Krouts listed on the memorial. Im sorry I didnt get to attend the dedication in 1991. Now here it is 2008 and I was searching for information and ran across the clip on YouTube. Through stories of my dad, Rusty, I got to know my great uncles.
I'm so thankful the town of Veedersburg erected the memorial to the men who sacrificed so much for my generation and future generations. I have to say everytime I hear the National Anthem, I am reminded of my great uncles and other men who sacrificed. Thank you for putting the dedication on the Internet.
