Young Explorer
Introspective and inventive, Lindbergh explored the rivers and woods, making his own fun most days. In the "usual good weather of a Minnesota summer," Lindbergh spent most of his time outdoors. He avidly collected rocks, butterflies, feathers and other natural objects.

When he started to build rafts to navigate the big river, the Mississippi, his dog became a faithful co-explorer.

Imaginations Soar Outdoors
The farm was a magical place for young Lindbergh. Here he dreamed, imagined, and invented.

"When I was a child on our Minnesota farm," Lindbergh once wrote, "I spent hours lying on my back in high timothy and redtop... How wonderful it would be, I'd thought, if I had an airplane... I would ride on the wind and be part of the sky."
