1. African Zoar Methodist Episcopal Church Marker
Inscription. Founded here in 1794 by 15 men and three women from St. George's Church, led by Rev. Harry Hosier. Zoar was active in the Underground Railroad and moved to 12th and Melon Streets in 1883. It is United Methodism's oldest Black congregation.
 
Erected 1990 by Pennsylvania Historical & Museum Commission.
