Inscription. The last library funded by noted philanthropist Andrew Carnegie opened here October 30, 1930, as the Wyoming Avenue Branch of the Free Library of Philadelphia. Pittsburgh industrialist Carnegie endowed more than 2,500 libraries worldwide, including many in Philadelphia.
 
Erected 2005 by Pennsylvania Historical & Museum Commission.
