East Side Cafe became Harts Lunch by the 1940s and was a local teenage hangout. Both restaurants were a favorite for homemade hamburgers and pies.

Originally, this building had a carriage shop in the back and a hardware store in the front. In the early 1900s, it became the Elite Theater and lasted until the middle of the [D]epression. After the [D]epression, Fairmont Ice Cream opened and became the place to stop for a sweet treat.
