Inscription. A major 20th century American poet, Stevens was awarded the Pulitzer Prize for his “Collected Poems” in 1955. Works such as "Bantams in Pinewoods," "Harmonium," and "The Auroras of Autumn" combined poetic language with serious philosophical ideas. His birthplace was here.
