The Battle of Fort Blakely
The Battle of Fort Blakely April 9, 1865 was the last major battle of the Civil War. This 67 acre part of the Blakeley Battlefield was acquired in 2002 with assistance of grants from the Land & Water Conservation Fund administered by the National Park Service, the Civil War Preservation Trust, and Historic Blakeley Foundation together with the aid of the owner, Alan H. Belcher DVM.
