Who gave his life in the line of duty in the early morning hours of June 29th, 1962. while investigating a suspicious person complaint, he was struck down without warning by the bullets of a gunman. Although mortally wounded by three bullets, without the slightest regard for his own safety, the dying Chief Ricketts returned the fleeing gunman’s fire and disabled him.
