3. La Palma Catholic Church
The nearby church was the site of the first peace talks in the Salvadoran Civil War on October 15, 1984 between then President Duarte and representatives of the Farabundo Marti National Front (FMLN). It would be another eight years until a true peace agreement was made in 1992.
