1. Hood Avenue Marker
Hood, born in Owingsville, Kentucky, graduated from West Point in 1853 and joined the infantry. He saw frontier duty where he was wounded. He resigned from the US Army in 1861. He commanded Hood's Division of Longstreet's Corp at Chickamauga, where he was wounded and had his leg amputated. He led the charge that forced Rosecrans to retreat. After the war he became a businessman.
