1. Champion's Hill Marker
Inscription. Located 4.4 mi. S.W., is site of crucial battle in the Vicksburg defense, May 16, 1863. Grant, cutting off Johnston's relief, drove Pemberton from this hill across Big Black River.
 
Erected 1949 by Mississippi Historical Commission.
