Fray Junipero Serra
Civilizador de los pueblos pames y jonaces, hombre egregio que vinculo la cultura hispana con las milenarias culturas indígenas de la Sierra Gorda, en donde dejo la huella profunda de su entrega y solidaridad con la humanidad.
Pueblo y gobierno de Queretaro al dedicar este monumento en el bicentenario de su muerte, rinden también férvido homenaje a los heroicos civilizadores que compartieron con el una hazaña imponderable.

English translation:
To the eminent humanist
Friar Junipero Serra
He brought civilization to the pames and jonaces, a distinguished man that linked hispanic culture with the ancient indigenous cultures of the Sierra Gorda, where he left the deep imprint of his commitment and solidarity with humanity.
The people and government of Querétaro dedicate this monument on the bicentennial of his death, and pay a fervent tribute to those at the heroic vanguard of civilization that shared with him this imponderable feat.
